In conjunction with NSF International, the supplement testing organization used by professional sports associations, EAS is the sole provider of select products to the players of professional baseball and teams will start selling approved supplements to players in an effort to prevent positive drug tests.

NSF International—the same testing body that designates products for certification for the NFL—has entered into an agreement with MLB that provides select EAS products for teams and players. Once a supplement is certified, teams will buy the products and make them available for resale to players in the 30 major-league clubhouses.

In addition to requiring NSF Certification to dietary supplements or functional foods criteria, the program requires each product lot to undergo analytical testing to ensure the absence of any banned substances.
