FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: I’ve heard that CLA is found naturally occurring in foods, is that true?
A: Yes. CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is found naturally occurring in common foods such as milk, cheese and beef. However, you’d need to consume around six to seven pounds of beef or two gallons of milk each day to obtain the daily 4-5g of CLA that is believed to be beneficial.

Q: Whey do I experience a warm sensation in my skin when I take Nitron 5?
A: The specialized nutrients in Nitron 5 are formulated to increase circulation…down to the capillary level and even below the skin. This explains why some experience a mild heating sensation with this product. However, this effect is one of the primary benefits of this advanced product. Increased circulation means better “pumps” when training and the potential for better nutrient delivery and waste removal from muscle tissue.

Q: Can I use Thermo DynamX® and CLA in conjunction?
A: Although both of these products may support fat loss, they work by exerting two very different effects. Thermo DynamX® contains stimulant ingredients such as caffeine and supports fat-burning through the process of thermogenesis. CLA is a special type of omega-6 fatty acid that may improve lean mass and accelerate fat loss over time, possibly through supporting efficient fat and protein metabolism at the cellular level. CLA, being a specialized fat, does not offer nervous system stimulating effects. Thermo DynamX® and CLA are fine when taken in conjunction.

Q: Will Thermo DynamX® give me the jitters?
A: Individuals who are sensitive to stimulants may experience some mild effects when using fat-burning products such as Thermo DynamX®. Thermo DynamX® contains well-known stimulants such as caffeine to enhance metabolic functions and the consumption of body fat as fuel.

Q: What exactly is CLA?
A: CLA stands for conjugated linoleic acid. It's a naturally occurring fatty acid in a number of foods. It was originally isolated in cooked ground beef, believe it or not, about ten years ago. Fatty acids are the molecules that make up a fat, in sort of the same way amino acids are the molecules that make up a protein. Examples of other fatty acids include linoleic acid and linolenic acid.

Q: What exactly does conjugated mean?
Well, it simply means the molecule has what's known as two double carbon bonds, separated by one single bond. You chemists out there will understand that perfectly, but for those of you who are experts in some other field, suffice it to say that those conjugated double bonds give it properties very different from regular linoleic acid (the kind found in flax oil or borage oil). CLA is not a drug. In fact, it's found in relatively large quantities in some foods like dairy products, beef and veal, and even turkey. The average person probably gets up to one gram a day just by eating regular foods. The trouble is, you'd probably have to eat more meat or more cheese than you ever dreamed of to get enough CLA to see any beneficial effects. For instance, cheeses have an average of between 2.9 mg and 7.1 mg of CLA per gram of fat. You'd have to eat cheese on the order of several pounds a day to get anywhere near the four-gram dosage that appears to be beneficial to humans. It makes more sense to consume CLA supplements that contain a high concentration of this unique fatty acid.

Q: Specifically, what's the source of your CLA product?
A: There are 1,000 mgs of vegetable oil in each soft gel capsule with 80% conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and 20% other fatty acid. TBHQ (0.02%), an antioxidant, has been added to preserve freshness.

Q: Does CLA cause any side effects?
A: CLA is a dietary supplement, not a drug. This compound occurs naturally in a variety of foods, and extensive research on CLA has shown no toxicity or any adverse effects. At this time, CLA has no known side effects.

Q: What does Endurathon contain that helps you recover faster, work out longer and build muscle?
A: Ribose—Ribose is a necessary building block in the regeneration of adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP), the immediate energy fuel used by muscles to perform strenuous workouts and other athletic activities. When you exercise, the ribose you currently store in your body may not be enough to help you make the most of your training. Ribose helps you improve athletic endurance and aids in the exercise recovery and muscle growth.

Trehalose—Helps to sustain energy levels over time.

BCAAs—Branched chain amino acids are "stripped" from muscle to be used as an energy source during intense exercise. The BCAA content in Endurathon creates an environment of muscular endurance and energy replenishment while you exercise.

Q: What can the increased nitric oxide produced by Nitron 5 deliver?
A: Nitric oxide increases the blood flow to hungry muscle during exercise, greatly enhancing the delivery of oxygen and energy-rich nutrients. The buildup of lactic acid and ammonia in exercising muscles is known to be one of the causes of muscle fatigue and failure. Nitric oxide enhances blood flow to offset lactic acid and buildup. This may enhance muscular endurance capacity. Nitric oxide increases the production of a stimulatory neurotransmitter in muscles during exercise. Nitric oxide stimulates optimal muscle contractility and enhances glucose uptake into muscles during exercise.

Q: What should I expect from using Thermo DynamX?
A: While Thermo DynamX is a powerful tool to accelerate fat loss, it is not a magic pill. Combined with exercise and proper nutrition one may see extraordinary results. There is no known compound or product that will "melt" fat without proper diet and exercise in spite of the high prevalence of exaggerated claims made by many companies.

Q: How may Octopamine promote fat loss?
A: Octopamine is a selective stimulator of B-3 receptors, which are primarily found on brown adipose tissue. Brown adipose tissue (unlike white fat cells) do not store fat. Instead, when stimulated, brown fat actually increases overall thermogenesis. Similar to a car using up fuel while running in neutral. Octopamine may stimulate brown fat, thus aiding in the liberation of calories and body fat.

So far I have been on Muscle Armor for three weeks and I can tell a huge difference in both my recovery time and ability to train harder. For example I ran 70 miles in seven days last week, broken down into seven 10-mile runs. Usually around day four or five, my runs begin to suffer and my performance actually drops on the run (meaning I would still run 10 miles but not as fast). With the new Muscle Armor not only did I run the 70 miles in a week, but every day—except for the last (7th day)—I ran considerably faster on the exact same course. To me, there is no better example of how I could recover faster and push harder in my training than that. Since running is the hardest on my body it is always my best indicator of recovery and performance ability. I know my 2006 season is going to be killer and the Muscle Armor is going to allow me train harder and longer than ever possible. Trenton J. Tollakson Triathlete
