RUNNING CADENCE Cycling studies have shown that higher revolutions per minute (RPMs) are more efficient once you have trained your body to manage that pace. The same holds true for running. For efficient running, try to make about 182 total foot contacts per minute, or 91 RPMs, regardless of your running pace.
